Finally got out on the bike the other day and decided to try my luck up in the snow. I had just put some brand spankin' new Nevegal tires on (Merry Christmas to me...from me) and went Ghetto Tubeless and I wanted to see how the tread would do in that white fluffy stuff. She handled beautifully and I believe I was laying down the first tire tracks on the trail, but I could see some faint marks of a fat tire bike that must have been up there right after it snowed. The trail had been somewhat packed down from hikers which made it easy to get traction until about 3/4 the way up, the hikers weren't venturing that far up so it was still really powdery snow and too hard to climb in.
It was pretty awesome and peaceful to be all alone up in the mountains with the fresh snow. About half way up the trail I stopped to take it all in and saw a little tree off the side of the trail that some hikers had decorated.
Made my day to know that people love the outdoors so much that not only do they get out even when it's freezing cold out, but they are spreading the joy to others. Merry Christmas, and to who ever decorated the tree on the trail, thank you!
